The volume of local air traffic and superb year-round weather make the Phoenix valley an excellent location for flight training. Phoenix is one of the few locations in the United States where you can fly almost every day of the year.

    *While Westwind School of Aeronautics is based in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area, students conduct operations throughout the entire southwestern United States. Numerous training activities are flown in Southern California, where students gain vital experience operating in instrument meteorological conditions.

    The diverse nature of the terrain found in the Southwestern United States enables students to experience a wide variety of flight conditions; coastal flying, mountain flying, instrument meteorological conditions, high density altitude - it's all part of the Westwind experience.

    Deer Valley Airport is controlled and radar equipped. The airport has several published instrument approaches and is operational 24 hours a day.
